THAI
MASSAGE
A Thai massage is a technique performed over the clothes without oil. It uses
massage and rubbing to relieve pain and stress.
A deep tissue
massage is an intense massage used to relive pain and improve circulation
using a whole -body massage.
DEEP
TISSUE MASSAGE
Sports
Massage
More Than Medium Pressure
An Extension Sport Massage is different than most other clinics because we
do an Assessment of the Human Movement system, which allows a more specificity
for your massage. This system is great for people who do 150 - 300 mins of
moderate to intense aerobic exercise per week. A Sport massage is used to
reduce and release tension in muscles. It can encourage the removal of lactic
acid, which can build up from a sports or activity and can help improve circulation.
A sports massage can also aid in helping an athlete mentally prepare for a
competition or just normal activity. Sports massage are similar to a deep
tissue massage. The main difference is that a sports massage focuses on a
specific area that need relief form a sport injury or sporting exercise. A
deep tissue massage is more of a whole-body massage. A sports massage should
be intense but should not cause more pain. Always tell the massage therapist
if you tense up or feel more pain so the intensity can be reduced to get the
desired results.
Thai
Massage By Specialized Movement Therapists
Our Thai Massage Therapists are trained in the very complex human movement
system and in flexibility coaching. This allows our Thai massage therapists
to excel in providing a deep and meaningful stretch. Thai Massage can be Mixed
in with Sports Massage to provide the same assessment to For those who are
physically active and looking to improve their range of motion and reduce
tension in areas of restricted movement.
A Thai massage uses a combination of acupressure, compression, and stretching.
It can help joints and muscles achieve an increased range of motion. It can
also help in improving your posture. A Thai massage is performed while you’re
fully clothed so it’s recommended to always wear comfortable, stretchable
clothing. Many Thai massages are done on a floor mat instead of a massage
table, which offer a wider range of motion. A Thai massage can help relieve
stress, headaches, stimulate circulation, improve range of motion and boost
your energy. A Thai massage is more dynamic and focuses on relaxation and
enhancing your bodies energy flow using long strokes and rubbing to relieve
pain and stress.

Therapists and Coaches at Ex-tension are well trained in Identifying and shedding
light on your muscular imbalances whether they are obvious or subtle. Muscular
Imbalances lead to offset posture, injury and pain. You might take notice
of this. At times it might feel like it is impossible to keep the shoulders
back. The more you pull them back the more the upper back becomes fatigued
and the shoulders simply fall forward. That is an imbalance. The overuse of
muscles of the chest are inhibiting muscles in the back. This can manifest
as upper back, neck and shoulder pain. Sometimes this can turn into various
injuries of the back, neck and shoulder as well. To list a few:
•Upper Back and Shoulder Pain.
•Lower back pain.
•Chest and arm pain.
•Neck pain.
•Headaches and migraines.
•Rotator Cuff Injuries.
•Shoulder impingement syndrome.
•Degenerative disk disease.

I am usually
reluctant to get a massage due to insecurities but Michae made me feel super
comfortable, relaxed, and I was so happy that I chose to get a massage from
him. His room is well kept, clean, and relaxing. I was able to let him know
what I wanted and didn't want and he respected that. Very happy with my massage
and I've recommended him to a few of my friends/family.

Michael was
very kind, respectful, and professional. My body feels 150% better from when
I walked in. He was quiet and thoughtful, with an amazing touch (not too hard
for a female body) and the massage was a delightful end to my day. Focus was
on my back, neck, and shoulder, exactly what I asked him for. I plan on telling
all my Spokane people about him. Don't hesitate to go, even if you prefer
a female therapist. The best! (Already booked my next massage 3 weeks from
now). :)
Debbie Wilson
Michael has
healing hands! I feel incredibly comfortable in his presence - he is respectful,
knowledgeable, and caring. He takes much care in his craft to ensure an experience
that works for the individual in front him. I have seen him on 3 or 4 occasions
and each time he opened a dialogue with me in an effort to customize the massage
to my specific circumstances. He takes his time to understand my needs and
understand my muscles' needs. While in the massage, he has a tangible ability
to adapt to what his hands are feeling and he checks in often!

Mobility
Coaching with a specialized Mobility Care Plan
Mobility
coaching is used to improve overall mobility issues. It may be
a combination of
•Squats: Cossack Squats shifts the body weight from one side to the
other, with one leg bent and one straight. This strengthens the inner thighs
and helps improve knee, hip, and ankle mobility.
•Ankles: Ankle circles are used to improve ankle mobility and flexibility,
by rotating each ankle in both a clockwise and counter-clockwise direction.
•Hips: 90/90 Hip Rotation is used to expand the range of motion in the
hip area, by rotating the hips through a large range of motion.
•Squats: Deep squat to standing improves mobility in the hamstrings,
hips and ankles by squatting, hold for a moment then stand-up hold and repeat.
•Rolling: Thoracic Foam Rolling uses a foam roller on your mid-back
which can help mobility and relieve stiffness.
•CARs: Controlled Articular Rotations can improve shoulder joint mobility
by carefully moving your arms in a circle as large as you can without pain.
•Lunge: Deep lunge with rotation is used to improve spinal and hip mobility
by placing the opposite hand on the floor and rotate your trunk towards your
front leg.
•Sciatic Nerve Floss: Will improve the mobility of the sciatic nerve.
Our care plan
will determine how often treatments are needed. We will start slowly and gradually
increase the repetitions, intensity, or range of motion as you become more
comfortable. Try to avoid any exercises that cause pain in the area being
treated. You can be combined with walking or swimming.
